RADA was created in 2015 to spotlight youth superhero role models and educators to help engage their peers to abstain from substance use.
Rise Above Drugs and Alcohol (RADA) was created with a clear vision: to spotlight youth superheroes — positive role models and educators — who inspire their peers to live substance-free lives. Designed specifically for students, RADA gives young people the tools, encouragement, and opportunities to lead by example.
At its core, RADA’s mission is to encourage, equip, and educate youth and community members on the importance of rising above drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. RADA is more than a program — it’s a lifestyle.
Throughout the year, RADA members volunteer across the community, promoting awareness, making an impact, and demonstrating the strength of living substance-free.
The program is open to high school students who are committed to living a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free lifestyle. RADA creates a supportive, safe environment where students feel empowered to be honest, grow as leaders, and influence others in a positive way.
Since its launch, over 130 students have participated in RADA over the course of its 10-year history — each one helping to shape a culture of courage, responsibility, and change.
